Samos is an island ruled by legend and beauty the birthplace of Pythagoras, the astronomer Aristarchus, and the philosopher Epicurus. The home of Hera, and the land that hosted Herodotus and Aesop. Visit the Heraion, the largest ancient temple in Greece, and the Archaeological Museum of Vathy, home to the awe-inspiring Kouros of Samos (4.75 m tall, 580 BC). Don't miss the Eupalinian Tunnel an ancient feat of engineering where two crews dug from opposite sides of a mountain and met with almost perfect precision.
